The increase in solid urban waste is directly related to the development of a country and the correct destination of such waste has generated relevant discussions in the academic and industrial field. According to the Brazil (2010), approximately 51.4% of the waste generated in Brazil is organic. In this context, biological treatment, through biodigesters is one of the main technological paths that have been studied for the sustainable reutilization of this organic matter. In the biodigestion process, it is possible to obtain two products: biogas and biofertilizer. Biogas can be used for energy generation while the biofertilizer becomes organic fertilizer. Therefore, the objective of the presente work it is to design a biodigestion system for the treatment of Urban Solid Waste in the municipality of Rosana, as well as to carry out the economic feasibility study for the implementation of the proposed system. From the obtained results in the economic analysis it was verified that the implementation of the biodigestion system is feasible in the municipality of Rosana, generating revenue of approximately R$ 106,995.00/year from the sale of generated energy and R$ 80,006.40/year with the sale of biofertilizer. In addition, the economic analysis also recognizes the feasibility of the project, with a Net Present Value obtained of R$ 142,165.86, an Internal Rate of Return of 20% and a Payback of 4.42 years. Thus, it was found that the biodigestion system is economically attractive to the municipality of Rosana.
