ECONOMIC VIABILITY OF THE PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY IN RESIDENTIAL CONDOMINIUMS

The technological dynamics and progress that society has experienced has led to an increasing demand for energy. The most used energy sources are characterized by being non-renewable (fossil and nuclear fuels) and, therefore, with relevant potential to cause environmental impacts. Photovoltaic energy is a viable alternative to this issue. The possibility of its use in the residential sector, and especially in residential condominiums, has drawn attention. In these spaces there is a large consumption of energy, with regard to use in common areas. This paper analyzes the economic feasibility of the implementation of this technology in a residential condominium. A simulation was carried out based on a condominium of 14 residential towers, located in the municipality of Ribeirão Preto/SP. The simulation showed that the implementation is feasible, with an annual return of 32.59% of the investment and a return time of 37 month.
