The selection of soybean cultivars in Cerrado regions may confer lower losses in relation to the bed bug complex attack. The objective of this study was to evaluate the physiological and phytotechnical parameters of soybean under the attack of the stink bug Euschistus heros, regarding the use of different insecticides and cultivars. The experiment was carried out at the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul - University Unit of Cassilândia in the 2009/2010 crop, in a 2 x 2 factorial scheme and randomized block design with sub-divided plots, two insecticides in the plot: 1 - Engeo Full (thiametoxam + lambda cyhalothrin, 0.2 L ha-1); 2 - Connect (imidacloprid + betacyfluthrin; 0.75 L ha-1); and two soybean cultivars in the subplot: a - BRS Valiosa RR; b - ANTA 82, and five repetitions. The treatments were applied when the attack reached two bed bugs / sampling, through weekly tap cloth surveys. The percentage of leaf retention, the percentage of damage of pods, the mass of one hundred grains, and yield in Kg ha-1 were evaluated. It was concluded that the predominant bed bug species was E. heros and that the cultivar BRS Valiosa RR is more productive than Anta-82.
